Coffee-vanilla MP-soap

Weer heerlijke mugcake gemaakt, nu zonder kaneel maar met cacaonibs, daarnaast wat kwark, five spices-poeder en amandelen. Genieten!

I've made mugcake again this morning, but with cacaonibs and without cinnamon powder. Next to it some cream cheese with five spices-powder and almonds. Delicious!

Vlak na de vorige keer zeep maken kwam de zeepmal binnen. Lichtroze, zes mooie rechthoekige vakken. En ik wist al wat ik graag wilde maken: koffie-vanille zeep (naar idee van deze site, alleen net even iets anders). Mijn ingrediënten: gemalen koffie, MP-zeep en vanille-olie.

Just after my first attempt of making MP-soap, the mold I ordered online arrived. Light pink, with six rectangles. I already new what I wanted to make next: coffee-vanilla-soap (the idea came by reading this post, I just altered it a little). My ingredients: grounded coffee, MP-soap and vanilla-oil. 

De gemalen koffie ging bij de gesmolten zeep. Even was er twijfel of het echt wel wat zou gaan worden...

Maar na goed roeren was daar een mooi mengsel, was ik niet wat aan het vergeten?

After a good stir it became a nice mixture. Wasn't I forgetting something?

Het mengsel ging redelijk netjes in de mallen... Grr, ik was de vanille-olie vergeten toe te voegen evenals de alcoholspray mee naar de keuken te nemen. Olie alsnog gauw toegevoegd en in de mal geroerd...

The mixture went into the molds... Oh no, I did forget the vanilla-oil and I had forgotten to take the alcoholspray into the kitchen. I put the vanilla into the molds and gave a quick stir. 

Een paar uur later had ik prachtige mooie, harde zeep (met een paar luchtbelletjes). In het midden is te zien dat er nog geroerd in de mal is na het gieten, maar dat geeft we een leuk accent. 

After a few hours I had beautiful, hard soap (with some air bubbles in it). In the middle of the soap you can see the stirring after putting it into the molds, I like that accent.  

En deze twee schoonheden pronken in het raam bij de keuken... De linker orchidee heeft nog nooit zoveel bloemen tegelijk gehad. Prachtig zo in het zonlicht!

These two beauties are in front of our kitchen-window... My orchid on the left has never had so many flowers before. Lovely in the sunshine!

First time making MP-soap

Zo'n twee weken geleden kwam mijn pakketje binnen met melt&pour soap, oftewel smelt&meng-zeep. Ondanks dat de bestelde zeepvormen (andere webwinkel) nog niet binnen waren, kon ik natuurlijk niet wachten en besloot het product meteen uit te proberen. 

About two weeks ago, my parcel with melt&pour soap arrived. Despite the fact the molds weren't there yet (different online shop), I couldn't wait to start. 

Alle ingrediënten klaar voor gebruik, zeep in stukjes gesneden, gedroogde sinaasappelschil, honing en kaneelpoeder.

All ingrediënts ready for use, soap in pieces, honey, cinnamon powder and dried orange peel pieces. 

De honing werd met de kaneel gemengd tot een mooie gladde massa.

De zeepblokjes gingen de magnetron in en tussendoor een paar maal roeren tot alles mooi gesmolten was.

I melted the soap in the microwave oven, stirred inbetween untill it was all melted. 

Toen konden de sinaasappelschilletjes erbij.

Orangepeel was added.

Daarna kon het honing-kaneelmengsel erbij.

Als mallen gebruikte ik twee kleine vershoudbakjes en vergat ik de zeep te bespuiten met alcohol, dus vandaar de luchtbelletjes bovenop.

As molds I used two little containers, and I did forget to use spray alcohol, so there are some air bubbles.

De zeep uit de mallen krijgen toen het gestold was, was wat lastig. Maar ik heb nu wel twee prachtige zeepjes van circa 125g beide, ze ruiken heerlijk naar kaneel. Wanneer de mallen binnen zijn, weet ik al wat voor zeep ik als tweede ga maken!

It was hard to get the soap out of the containers, they weren't flexible at all. But I've got two lovely soaps of 125 grams each. They have a lovely cinnamon smell. I've already made my mind what kind of soap I'm gonna make when the molds have arrived!
